My pen did come with a convertor inkwell, so no need for cartridges if you're okay with buying a jar of ink. Easy to load convertor; you may want to load and unload a couple of times in order to get the converter to take in a full load of ink. I definitely recommend the extra fine nib, which seems to write with a similar thickness to the Parker Quink gel 0.7mm cartridges in my Jotter.The pen itself is hefty compared to a Pilot G2 or a Parker Jotter. Writing-wise, a Parker Jotter loaded with a Quink Gel cartridge writes comparably as good as this pen.But let's face it. You're not buying this pen because it's superior to modern pens. It honestly doesn't write any better than a Parker Jotter with a Quink gel cartridge.This is a pen for those who love elegant pens. This is a pen to wow people with. This is a pen for those who love writing for the sake of writing. This is not a pen you let other people use in day-to-day mundane activities.It's a pen to make you feel inspired. It's a pen that no one else writes with, because no one uses fountain pens anymore, except those who love pens and writing.Let everyone else use your Pilot G2s or Uniball 207s. Keep this pen to yourself.

I've never paid this much for a pen before, but it was well worth it. It is beautiful and writes nicely. Feels good in my hand. I'll treasure it for a long time!
