British Racing GreenAs always writes well, and smooth. Another extremely well crafted fountain pen, from the house of Scriveiner. As usual the product speaks for itself as one if the best pens in the market at any price point, especialls for people who actually write with fountain pens on a regular basis. I cannot thank Scrivenier enough for bringing the joy of writing without the useless marketing pretentions. A simply superior product.
Since I dont use cartriges it might be better to have the option of an extra converter.
The Scriveiner is my go-to entry-level fountain pen. This is my third one, and I've given a few away to the pen-curious. I have a blue at home and at the office. The beautiful British Racing Green is a great match for the current Emerald Lake Metallic Cadillac color. So when I saw one of the other pen companies made an international short cartridge in Cadillac Green, I had to buy one of these to keep in the 2024 LYRIQ.
This pen writes very well, the medium nib is not too broad, and is as smooth as you will find without moving into the $200 and above range (Sailor, Pelikan). I've not had any mess issues with either cartridge or converter.
The pen has a nice weight, deep rich color, and gives the feel of a more expensive pen. The nib is on the small side, but I don't expect larger in this price range. If you are curious about fine writing, I can't imagine a better place to start.
Smooth to write with, barrel could be a little larger. Medium nib is perfect. British Racing Green is too dark to my eye.

This is a beautiful pen that has some heft. Ink flows smoothy and writes well without scratchiness. I purchased the medium point nib but, for smaller writing surfaces, like notecards, I think a fine point nib would be better. Since I like the pen as much as I do, I’ll probably be purchasing one in fine point soon.
