The Black Carved Daily is the most textured pen in the collection. A fine cross-hatched pattern runs across the brass body, and the black clip, trim and black chrome nib keep the look entirely tonal.
Under the texture, it is still a beginner fountain pen at heart: a metal body, an airtight cap and our own medium nib, made to be easy from the first page. The cigar shape is slimmer than our Classic and evenly balanced for longhand.
Scriveiner’s own medium nib and feed took years of in-house testing to get right. The nib starts cleanly, without skipping, and lays down an even flow of ink that does not flood the page.
A medium line is readable and confident, and it forgives the small changes in angle that come with learning. That makes it a comfortable starter fountain pen, and a satisfying one for writers who already know their way around a nib.
The fitted converter takes any bottled fountain pen ink, so you can choose your colour now and change it later. Cartridges are the quicker option when you are away from a bottle: they slot in cleanly, and a black and a blue come in the box.
Either way, this refillable fountain pen keeps its nib ready under an airtight cap.
The Black Carved Daily is an affordable fountain pen with a finish that feels anything but entry-level. It arrives in a presentation box with everything needed to begin. That makes it an easy gift for a student, a graduate or someone with a taste for considered design, and just as easy to keep.
