This was my second Scriveiner, the first being a fountain pen. Although this review is for the refills, this pen writes almost as nicely as my fountain pen and would be a great gift for somebody who journals or does a lot of writing. Overall, the rollerball pen and refills are a great value for the price, I give it a 10/10.

I have been collecting pens for over 30 years. Bought the fountain pen in British Racing Green based on a recommendation from a friend. Was one of the best pens I ever wrote with, so I bought the roller and the ballpoint to match. Top notch quality writing instruments.

The Scriveiner is my go-to entry-level fountain pen. This is my third one, and I've given a few away to the pen-curious. I have a blue at home and at the office. The beautiful British Racing Green is a great match for the current Emerald Lake Metallic Cadillac color. So when I saw one of the other pen companies made an international short cartridge in Cadillac Green, I had to buy one of these to keep in the 2024 LYRIQ.

This pen writes very well, the medium nib is not too broad, and is as smooth as you will find without moving into the $200 and above range (Sailor, Pelikan). I've not had any mess issues with either cartridge or converter.

The pen has a nice weight, deep rich color, and gives the feel of a more expensive pen. The nib is on the small side, but I don't expect larger in this price range. If you are curious about fine writing, I can't imagine a better place to start.

Writes lovely and feels so comfortable to use

Bought this to replace a defunct fountain pen I really wanted to rescue but couldn’t. Ooh the Scriveiner is lovely. It’s a fab weight in the hand, looks gorgeous in my racing green and it yums up my posh inks from Cult Pens. Makes me want to write even more.

I like how easy and convenient it is to order ink cartridges for my Scriveiner fountain pen. I didn’t imagine how much I would love writing with it. I found myself keeping up with my journal, taking notes by hand during meetings and conversations, and even doing some creative writing just as excuses to use my pen. I love technology, and I use a lot of apps on my “smart” devices, but my brain is getting smarter as I apply neuroscience on the benefits of taking notes by hand. The pleasure of felling and seeing the smoothness of my penmanship is greatly gratifying. I even taught myself to write in cursive, since I was not provided with the opportunity to develop that important skill in my childhood. I hope that the readers of this review become curious about applied neuroscience related to penmanship and it’s benefits, and become enticed to enjoy the pleasure of fine craftsmanship, elegance, and comfort that Scriveiner fountain pens offer, along with the good quality and convenience of their ink cartridges.

I love my new Scrivener black and gold pen. I now have 3 Scrivener pens. I’m obsessed. Two of them are shorter rollerball pens. Because they are all so special, I bought a special holder for the 3 of them. Now I won’t have to worry about losing any of them. Thank you!
